Good Evening Friends! I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend! What picture perfect weather we had here - how nice to see the sunshine and be able to be out to enjoy it!

My card today is one I made as a set for the Habitat for Humanity luncheon we had last week. I used more of my $1 Michaels ribbon. I put the polkadots on the certainly celery strip of cardstock myself using the paper-piercing template from the Stampin Up Mat Pack and the white gel pen we carry. I used the white gel pen to color over the flowers I stamped at the bottom too. The paper flowers were bought from Oriental Trading a while ago and I just added a certainly celery brad in th middle. Colors I used are cool caribbean and certainly celery and of course whisper white.

I just love Stampin' Up!'s whisper white and very vanilla paper - lets have a Shout Out for how awesome this paper is! The white is so vibrant and really shows off our ink colors well. It absorbs the ink and just makes it look so crisp. I love how smooth it is too - makes it nice to hold in your hands. Honestly , I have never found better white cardstock to work with.

So, have any of you been to Michaels lately - aren't they just taking their own sweet time with this change over stuff. I am getting pretty impatient as I cannot seem to find anything I want from there anymore (or is it just because I already have everything?). Anyway - it just seems they have been doing this change over thing for so long that I have not even enjoyed my time there. They don't carry all the great stamping magazines anymore which is what i used to use my 40% coupons on. Today I went in there to buy a picture frame to fram a scrapbook page I did of my niece and they are putting up all that Martha Stewart stuff. So, what's your opinion about all this? Do you like the idea of Martha tapping into our little world of stamping and paper crafting. I mean I know she's done it somewhat, but why now start a whole new line? I am not really sure if I'm up for it, maybe I'm just a little intimidated by her perfectionism. I was watching her show the other day (it always depresses me so I don't like to really turn it on) and she was explainin how she uses shelf brackets turned upside down in her linen wardrobe hutch thingy to keep her towels from toppling over in the closet. I mean really - who has time to worry about all that? So what if the towels topple over? And really - did she put those in herself or one of her hired hands? Don't get me wrong - I find her fascinating and my feelings for her have nothing to do with her stock market scandal really I could care less about that, but who really has time to be that perfect? It's depressing! Maybe with her tapping into the paper crafting line I am a little wary because now I see her as competition - and who wants to compete with Martha - I mean - it's Martha Stewart!

Okay- enuf of my venting - I'm okay, really I am.... :)

I don't know about the whole Martha thing...I do know that it has at least forced Michaels to re-think the way they merchandise that department. New stamps, new paper (like the glittery DCWV), new toys...maybe I won't have to find such far-flung places for my addiction. Beautiful card...love the layering of colors and paper!
